So, now that casting has already started happening for Divergent, I'm just scared. I am always, always scared when my favorite books are made into movies. The Twilight movies just ruined the books for me, although the ones that Stephenie Meyer actually produced were a lot better. I'm also terrified about City of Bones, but that's another topic entirely... To the thoughts at hand:
For some reason, when I was reading DIVERGENT for the first time, I immediately thought of Four as looking like Jensen Ackles of Supernatural even though, at that point, I had not yet watched one episode of the show... To me, Four looks like this:
Obviously, Jensen Ackles is not young enough to play that role, so I don't get my wish and get to keep on imagining him that way. I even made a whole post about this here.
So, now that some casting has started for Divergent, I get to me nervous all over again.
Shailene Woodley has been cast as Tris:
I'm not sure that I really like her as Tris, but to me (weirdly enough) I'm not as concerned with what Tris looks like as with what Four looks like. Here's Shailene's opinion on who should be cast.
Out of the four actors still in the running for Four, I best like Brenton Thwaites:
He can have that vulnerable, please love me look.
Can pull off the intensity while still having a slight vulnerability.
Jack Reynor, also a contender, isn't half bad either:
Who would you cast out of the four remaining contenders?
